Spring into action! Mystical Ellie’s Water Festival is back for spring in the world of Black Desert Online. To celebrate, we are holding a fan-made trailer contest so you can show us how you would showcase springtime in the world of Black Desert Online.

All entries must be uploaded onto YouTube during the submission period (see below) to be eligible for this contest. They cannot be uploaded before or after the submission period.

  • Theme: Spring in Black Desert Online. Show us how you would showcase spring in the beautiful world of Black Desert Online!
  • Submission Period: April 24th – May 20th
  • There will be two types of winners.
    • Staff/Community Pick

 

Step 1: Staff Pick

  • Period: May 20-22
  • 14 videos will be selected by our staff for the community to vote on

 

Step 2: Community Vote

  • Period: May 22–29
  • The community can vote on the staff picks, which will determine how the 14 videos will rank

 

Step 3: Announcement

  • Date: May 30
  • The final rankings based on the community vote will be announced.

Making the Video

Use your imagination to show us what you love the most about BDO within the trailer!

Some ideas on how to create an engaging trailer may be found <HERE>.

All entries must adhere to the following criteria to be considered eligible.

  • Video Length: Between 30 seconds and 2 minutes
  • Video Resolution: At least 1080p
  • Minimum FPS: 30 (We recommend 60.)
  • The video must be shot in at least “High” Graphics setting. (We recommend “Remastered,” or even “Ultra.”)
  • The video may only contain footage shot in Black Desert Online.
  • Please try to utilize the official Black Desert Online music provided <HERE>. Please be aware that any audio that is copyrighted will not be accepted, and you must provide us the source of your music if it is self-created/licensed. Using in-game sound effects is optional.

Since the theme of this video content is spring, we suggest that you make use of these spring-themed features in-game:

  • Mystical Ellie’s Water Festival: Apr. 24th (after maintenance) – May 8th (before maintenance)
  • Tulip background: April 10th (after maintenance) – May 8th (before maintenance)
  • Rose background: May 8th (after maintenance) – June 5th (before maintenance)

 

Submitting the Video

All entries must adhere to these rules to be considered eligible.

  • The video must be uploaded to YouTube within the submission period, then linked on the official forum thread <HERE>.
  • The video must have the following title format, which includes your in-game Family Name and server region (NA or EU). “Black Desert Online: 2019 Spring Video Contest” must be kept in English. If you have a typo in your name or if you don't follow the given format below, you will be automatically disqualified. Please double check before posting!

    • Entries should have a video description that includes a short description of your video creation, as well as your in-game Family Name and server region (NA or EU).
    • The videos cannot contain any text or voice audio (e.g. player recorded voice-overs).
    • The in-game interface must be disabled. You can toggle the in-game interface by pressing Ctrl + U.
