This is Jae-hee Kim, the Executive Producer in charge of development for Black Desert Online.

As we are nearing the end of April 2019, we wanted to extend our sincere thanks for enjoying Black Desert Online the same way as you always have. We also wanted to reach out to our adventurers who may want to hear more about the news and updates you have been wondering about.

We want to release a more concrete schedule of our future updates to help you in the wait, and we also want to provide the opportunity to learn more about them in detail.

Doom, the roaring fire that blazes through the battlefield.

 

The Dream Horse that will only accept the fiercest of riders, will arise from the darkness.

Doom is the Dream Horse that controls fire, performs the strongest attacks, and is also the swiftest.

Doom, unlike the other Dream Horses Diné and Arduanatt, possess innate skills indigenous to itself.

The skill ‘Dark Flame Steps’ inflict Flame damage to nearby enemies.

Doom also performs the skill ‘Dark Sprint’ to speed up further through enemies while using ‘S: Instant Accel’ in a blaze and inflicts damage to those nearby. In addition, Doom is the only Dream Horse that can learn the skill Two-seater.

Awoken Soul from the Deep Sea “Sycraia Underwater Ruins”

 

Protty Cavern located in Weita Island, Sycraia Underwater Ruins Upper Zone and Sycraia Underwater Ruins Abyssal Zone located at Arsha Sea await adventurers who are readying for an underwater expedition.

Recommended AP for Protty Cavern is 170 - 190 which is slightly higher than that of Crescent Shrine, and it can be accessed through the cave entrance of Weita Island. Sycraia Underwater Ruins is an underwater combat area which will require you to dive in at a specific spot to gain access.

Sycraia Underwater Ruins is divided into two areas, the Upper Zone and the Abyssal Zone, and the Recommended AP for the Upper Zone is 220 - 240. The Sycraia Underwater Ruins Abyssal Zone can only be accessed by using the item Memories of the Deep Sea on a specific device located somewhere in the ruins. As the Recommended AP of the Abyssal Zone is around 280, make sure you are fully prepared for the challenge since this will be the most difficult and challenging monster zone in the World of Black Desert so far.

Along with Underwater Ruins update will come the new field boss ‘Sycrid’ and the new accessory ‘Tungrad Ring’ can be looted from defeating ‘Sycrid.’ For those looking to explore a new area and obtain new gear, Underwater Ruins will be the perfect choice. We await those who are willing to take on the underwater expedition.

New Adventures await at Mediah, “Mediah Quest Renewal”

 

Mediah Main Quests are also awaiting a renewal. The new Mediah Quest Renewal is the follow up content of the recent Main Quest Renewal until the story of Calpheon , and it will broaden your view on how you look at the world of Black Desert Online. Now through the renewed Mediah Quests, you will be able to have a clear grasp on the storyline of characters and group of forces that reside in the Black Desert world.

Adventurers will be able to choose between 2 crossroads quests to dig deeper into one storyline, and this will help you experience Black Desert Online with various perspectives. Even those who have completed the Mediah Main Quests will still be able to try the revamped Mediah quests that will reveal the new stories. We really hope you all take the chance to experience this new adventure.

Star’s End and Blackstar Weapons

 

Scheduled for launch in June, there will be the new region that will follow the Drieghan addition last November.

Star's End is an area in Northwestern Calpheon, a previously inaccessible area. The new Blackstar weapons that can be obtained from this region will even be stronger than Kzarka weapons. We hope this will bring a breath of fresh air to the everlasting struggle of choosing Kzarka or Offin as your main weapon sets.

More updates to come

 

“More joy in life” Life Skill Level Expansion

 

New changes are coming to the life skill content.

There will be various additional benefits added as your Life Skill levels increase. The number of materials that is allowed for mass processing will increase for Processing. As for Gathering, the obtain rate and the number of gathered items will increase.

With a higher fishing skill level, you will have a higher possibility to fish up a Prize Catch.

For Alchemy, the chance to obtain the maximum number of successful Alchemy products will increase. New items will also be available for Alchemy.

Additional effects for increasing your Life Skill levels will continue to be updated.

There will also be an addition of new gear that aids in growing your Life Skills to meet the level expansion. This new gear will not only help you in increasing your Life Skills faster, but it will also provide additional benefits as your Life Skill levels grow.

Furthermore, certain Life Skills will see changes starting with this week’s maintenance to alleviate the difference among Life Skill levels.
